Tricks for Treating Yourself with Oils

POST 9: Graveyard Pit Stop

Ever been trapped in a confined space where the expression “and put some stank on it” suddenly has new meaning? Yeah, nobody wants to smell like the Crypt Keeper, or be the Slayer slaying everyone with armpit gasses. YL has safe, non toxic fresh alternatives for you– CinnaFresh Deodorant, CitraGuard Deodorant. You’ll be fresh as a daisy! Warning, may cause others to want to cuddle closer to you…

Die Hard DIYers: If making your own sounds like a dream come true (more like Nightmare on Elm Street for me but to each her own) you can try this formula:
3/4 oz shea butter; 1.4 oz sweet almond oil; ½ oz beeswax pellets; ¾ oz zinc oxide; .07 oz zinc ricinoleate; ½ tsp matcha tea powder; 10 drops vitamin E; 15 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil; 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil. You can substitute the essential oils for your favorites that are antibacterial in nature (like Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Cinnamon, Bergamot, Oregano or Thyme for some Italian charm, Clove, Basil, Rosemary and Lemongrass). Melt together the shea butter, almond oil, beeswax and zinc ricinoleate in a double boiler until the wax and zinc ricinoleate melt. Remove from heat. Add the zinc oxide, matcha tea powder; vitamin E drops, and essential oils and whisk together until the zinc oxide is blended into the oils and wax. While still warm, pour into empty deodorant containers or tins. Wait for the mixture to cool and set without touching it (no touchy, it no likey!). Once it is firm then you can use it and raise your arms with confidence!
