Tricks for Treating Yourself with Oils

POST 11: Beware It’s Bite, Oral Care

If your bite is looking a bit snarly, there’s still hope to tame that savage smile! Thieves oil (and clove, peppermint, lemon, tea tree, sage, yarrow and frankincense) can heal and re-grow your gums naturally and safely. My dental hygienist told me to use the toothpaste and mouthwash daily. Her patients that use oil pulling never need her services–they come in, she ooh’s and ahh’s and they leave without all the scaping and picking that I was enjoying (I lied, I wasn’t enjoying it and neither was she when I tried to bite her). So, less pain and a healthy smile by using seed to seal safe products? Sold!

Easy breezy self care: If you need quick and easy options for oral care, here are a few of our favorites (feel free to explore further online) Thieves AromaBright or Whitening Toothpaste, Thieves Fresh Essence Mouthwash, Thieves Dental Floss (are you sensing a theme here????). We love these oral care options as they use only safe, non toxic ingredients. They whiten teeth, fight plaque, support healthy gums (and can help receding gum lines repair themselves) and don’t damage enamel. And it hides the evidence after you raid your kids candy!

DIYer mixers: Oil pulling–for single use–in a small jar mix 1tbsp organic coconut oil; 3 drops YL myrrh essential oil; 3 drops YL peppermint essential oil; and 2 drops YL clove essential oil and spoon the mixture into your mouth and swish for 5-20 minutes (if you can go the full 20 I am your fan for life!) before spitting into a trash can (because oils can clog your sink).
