Essential Oils for Maternity and Pregnancy–A Beautiful Adventure

POST 8: SLEEP

To sleep, perchance to dream. That elusive, yet oh so critical element we need to be productive and alert human beings! My father-in-law loved to offer advice and one of his favorite sayings when discussing my very action packed life (working full time and managing his 3 grandchildren) and wanting me to focus on better self care was: “The body, she is like the machine. If you do not put gas in the car, the car will not go. If you do not put food and rest in the body, the body, she will not go.” So, I can’t just keep eating to fuel the body to keep going? Gotcha! So, how do we grab those zzzz’s that are determined to elude us? Because you had better be rested now before your little one comes and demands attention every 2 hours until they hit the teen years and you become their driver and they ignore you for the periods in between. Too soon for truths? Maybe you should sleep on it and we will talk again. So, to sleep you can try any one of the following oils (pick ONE) and put one drop of carrier oil and the EO of your choice directly into your belly button (unless you have an outie–another benefit of pregnancy–and then just place it ON it instead of IN it): Lavender; Stress Away; Valor; Peace and Calming; Sandalwood; Frankincense; or Copaiba. If you need the holy grail of sleep remedies then throw the lot at it by blending: Peace and Calming (6 drops); Frankincense (4 drops) and Vetiver (2 drops) in a 5ml roller bottle, topped with Fractionated coconut oil or YL’s V-6 oil, and apply at the pulse points on your wrists, back of the neck and across the forehead (may calm wrinkles and fine lines as an added bonus). For best results, mix the essential oils and let them sit in the bottle with the lid on for 24 hours before adding the carrier oil to them. https://artfullyrestored.com/essential-oils/
