Thieves Oil blend was inspired by the legend of four 15th Century French thieves who formulated an aromatic blend they used while robbing the dead and dying during the plague and managed to stay healthy despite their exposure to the deadly illness. Thieves is a blend of clove, cinnamin bark, rosemary, lemon and eucalyptis oils. I work in a hospital and use Thieves Oil prior to patient care and I don’t get sick from the things to which I am exposed. It is my favorite, most versatile oil blend. I use the Thieves hand sanitizer between patients as it kills 99.99% of bacteria and doesn’t leave that sticky residue on my hands that feels disgusting. I like the fresher feel of the essential oils. I use the Thieves Oil foaming hand wash when I can get to a sink. I use the Thieves oil in my office by diffusing it so that it kills airborne microbials. And it makes my office smell better, which is a huge bonus over the normal hospital smells and my patients love it and comment on how much easier it is to breathe in my office!
Harsh chemicals, that absorb through our skin and cause health problems, aren’t the only choice when it comes to cleaning. The more I research toxic exposure, the more committed I am to moving my family’s care to non toxic alternatives and the essential oils are a great way to do that. At home I use Thieves Oil Cleaner on everything from counter tops to my floors to the deep cleaning of the bathrooms (which is my least favorite job ever but the smell of Thieves Oil makes it less terrible to just get it done and I love the look and smell afterwards). Thieves Oil Cleaner helps with deep cleaning, degreasing, spot cleaning (like when one of the dogs decides to christen my floor with poop/pee and I find their gift when I get home), dusting, dishes, bathrooms and more without exposing us to the dangerous chemicals in household cleaners. I use the Thieves Oil personal care line as well. Everywhere I can reduce contact with toxic chemicals I am making the change. I have less chronic pain and better mobility over the past year and I contribute those gains to the positive changes I am making in my personal care using Young Living Essential Oils.
